Specs and features of 2020 Mercedes-Benz Vito
Mercedes-Benz renewed the characteristic and dynamic design of the new Vito. The vehicle stands out with its completely new front grille, which integrates with the body-colored front bumpers. The "fully chrome" front grille is available as an option in all versions.
Changes were also made to the interior of the new Vito. “Caluma” fabric, which offers a flexible structure and a stylish appearance, was used instead of the previously used “Tunja” fabric. There are also new sporty-looking ventilation grilles on the left and right ends of the dashboard.
There are also some new updates about infotainment systems in the renewed Vito. Digital radio (DAB +) is available in all radio options, including the entry-level Audio 10. In this way, radio broadcasts can be listened clearly on the long road.
Hands-free calls can be made via Audio 10 via Bluetooth. The smartphone can be charged via the USB port. Along with the Audio 30 and Audio 40, there is a 7-inch touch screen and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto integration. These versions also work as the screen of the 180 angled rear view camera. In Audio 40, it is possible to manage integrated navigation via the screen.
With the update, all rear-wheel drive Mercedes-Benz Vito versions are available with an OM 654 coded four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine, optimized for efficiency and emissions.
Vito 114 CDI: At the entry level, the Vito 114 CDI has 136 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque.
Vito 116 CDI : The higher-end Vito 116 CDI has 163 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.
Vito 119 CDI: At the top, the Vito has 119 CDIs, 190 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque.
Vito 124 CDI: With the new generation, the Vito 124 CDI, the most powerful engine in its class, is also available. This engine option produces 239 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.
At the moment of acceleration, 30 Nm “Overtorque” is activated in addition to the existing 500 Nm. The Vito 124 CDI accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.9 seconds and accelerates to 210 km / h.
Gearbox and suspansion
All rear-wheel drive Vito versions have a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. Also the AIRMATIC air suspension, which will be offered for the first time in the Vito model, adapts itself to road and driving conditions.
Along with the increased ground clearance, ride comfort is also maintained on difficult road surfaces. The air suspension system adjusts itself independently on each wheel depending on driving and road conditions.
Features like Active Brake Assist, DISTRONIC and digital interior rearview mirror have been added to the new Vito. The number of safety and driving assistance systems has reached 13 from the 10.
The new Active Brake Assist detects a possible collision risk with the vehicle in front. The DISTRONIC system follows the vehicle ahead, maintaining the distance set by the driver. It significantly relieves the driver in highway or stop-and-go traffic.
With the digital mirror feature, the image captured by the HDR camera on the rear window is transferred to the interior rearview mirror.
So that, the driver can see the rear through the rearview mirror even if the back of the Vito is installed up to the ceiling.
