Now BMW is entering the competition with hydrogen cell vehicles. The company developed i Hydrogen Next with the support of Toyota. I Hydrogen Next works with hydrogen, and fuel cells can produce 375 hp. This fuel cell of the vehicle provides 125kW of electrical energy. In addition, the vehicle has a “top battery” that can be used when it needs additional power. With this battery, a total of 275 kW electricity is provided in the system.
BMW's new vehicle has a 700 bar pressure tank and 6kg of compressed hydrogen capacity. With this tank capacity, it can travel 750 km with a single tank.
Still, BMW needs a long time to complete i Hdyrogen Next. At the same time, the infrastructure is not yet ready for the use of hydrogen vehicles. BMW will produce a limited edition of its hydrogen i Hydrogen Next in 2022 for test.
